Now this was something Patrick could get use to. Despite his absolute adoration for the large and the poncy, he had an appreciation for homes like this - cozy and obviously full of love. It reminded him of his Grandma Davies' home, or even Kiera's little flat. With a smile, Patrick made his way up to the front door. "Nadia," he said softly, then leaned over to kiss her cheek. He then held up a finger, dashing back to the car to grab a few things, and his Dad stood there, looking around at the house, the trees.. just the area in general. Once Patrick got what he needed, the driver pulled away to park in the street and wait.

"Nadia," Patrick said again as he joined her, followed this time by his father. He was a handsome man, with longer hair (much like his sons, but brown), permanent five o'clock shadow, warm eyes, and that air about him that just oozed with the power and absolute prowlness that was Benjamin Fiddlesticks. As Patrick handed a bouquet of beautiful pink roses to Nadia, his dad took a moment to look the girl over. Not bad, he decided.

"Dad, this is Nadia Dayton. Nadia, my father, Benjamin Fiddlesticks. Might we come in?" Patrick was.. well... nervous. He had heard from Nadia about how overprotective her dad was, and even though she had said she was sure he'd like him, Pat still had his worries. Polite or not, Patrick was just a hormonal teenage boy with fantasies of getting into Nadia's pants a few times.

As they stepped in, Patrick held up a fruit basket, then shook his head, grimacing at himself. "...I wanted to bring a gift for the family, but Merlin, I didn't know what to even get! Hope that ah.. fruit baskets work and all."

Nadia, fully in her element of warmth and love, graciously welcomed the both of them. She returned Pat's kiss happily on his own cheek, giving him a quick squeeze around the shoulders. "I'm so glad you could make it," she said, then blushed brightly as he gave her the flowers. "Thank you!" she added, absolutely enthralled with the offering.

As Pat introduced his father, Nadia almost reached out her hand to offer a handshake. But no, this was her home. They greeted everyone as though they were family, long-lost friends. So she gave him a bright smile and leaned up to kiss his cheek in a very European fashion.

"Mr. Fiddlesticks," she greeted, nodding with that same bright smile.

"Do come in! Please!" she cried, turning to open the door. She stepped in first, knowing how awkward it could be to walk into a strange home without a hostess. Thankfully, she spotted her parents coming back down the stairs.

She turned, letting the two men in before grinning and gesturing. "Ah, these are my parents," she said, waving toward the couple plopping down the stairs. "Edward and Emily Dayton," she finished, beaming with pride for her family.

Oh boy. The parents. Now was the time to put on that Fiddlesticks charm.

Unfortunately, Benjamin got to it before Patrick even could. Despite the home being, well, a bit cozier than what he was use to, Ben could turn anything into his element. He strolled right up to Edward and Emily, offering them his hand. "Thank you for welcoming us into your home," he said politely, then flashed his million dollar smile.

"...he's a people person," Patrick murmured as he looked at Nadia, then quirked his brows as he looked to her parents. "Hello, Mr & Mrs Dayton," he added, though he was quite sure they wouldn't notice him through the thicket of charm that surrounded his father. Looking back to Nadia, he smiled again. "Where should I put this?" he asked, motioning back down to the basket in his hand.

Nadia grinned, and nodded as Pat said that his father was a people-person. Her father looked absolutely bemused by the man, as he did tend to love Muggle things. So to see how an influential man in the Muggle world presented himself was interesting.

Not too different from an influential pureblooded wizard. Hmm.

Nadia's mother, on the other hand, was blushing and positively taken with the man, batting her hand in the air as she giggled and told them that they 'shouldn't have'. Shouldn't have what, Nadia didn't know. Because Pat still held the fruit basket, and she was quite sure her mum hadn't even seen it yet.

She grinned, then tugged Pat into the dining room where she took the basket and set it on the small buffet along the wall. "No trouble finidng us, I hope?" she asked, absolutely delighted to have him there.

Benjamin would have been grinning from Emily's reaction if not for the fact that he was terribly and utterly use to it. "Your home is quite lovely.. I must admit, I'm instantly green from envy!" Oh, Ben was the master of bullshitting. He was really thinking '...small... must be a dreadfully poor family', but he'd never let them know that. "My wife could never throw together anything as warm and cozy as what you've got here." He winked at Emily as he added "Can't let me stay too long, you know. I might not want to leave!"

The second Patrick was in the confidence of the dining room, he paused to bring his hand up to his forehead, groaning quietly. "...my father is so full of it," he admitted to her quietly, then looked up to her, smiling with that look on his face that said 'I just can't believe it'. He put it off, however, and sighed as he batted his hand towards the door. "My father. He's such a card. No, no problems finding you at all. Once we got on the motorway, it was a pretty smooth drive. Only hang-up we had was my father babbling for a good four hours about things I didn't really care to hear about." As he spoke, he made his way up to Nadia, then gently rested his hand against her side. "You look postively stunning tonight. Are you enjoying the vacation?"

Emily was blushing and batting at the air again and again, positively smitten with the man in front of her. Edward grinned, adoring the way his wife did that; she was so silly, and he knew that she'd always been that way. Always getting little crushes, but never forgetting who she loved.

He heartily laughed as Benjamin complimented their home, able to spot the lie a mile away. For someone who'd been disowned by his rich, pureblooded family, he knew false flattery when he saw it. But, he figured, it was much better to deal with this than insults.

"Come, let us dine, hmm?" he asked, ushering them into the dining room. He caught the sight of his daughter awfully close to the blonde boy, but bit his tongue. He trusted Nadia.

Nadia, meanwhile, was blushing in her own right, looking very much like her mother in the other room. "Thank you," she said softly, looking down as she bit her lip. "You do, too. Look very nice, I mean," she added, shrugging.

This was so different; him, here in her home. It had a different feel to it. And she liked it.

"I apologise for my wife being unable to make it," Benjamin added as they made their way into the dining room. "She's had a bit of a falling out with various instructors at her school, so she's devoted the week to staying there to handle things."

While the sight of Nadia and Patrick so close together caused Edward to bite his tongue, Benjamin was fighting back a grin. That's my boy, he thought to himself, noting the blush and general reaction she was having to him. In Ben's eyes, Patrick was a devil of a woman-roper in his own ways. While Ben went off of pure sexual appeal, Patrick was a shy charmer. Some might be proud of their children if they excel in school, or learn new things on a regular basis, or even do good things for other people. Ben was more proud of the fact that ladies responded to his son than anything else.

"Thank you, Nadia" Patrick replied quietly, then glanced over as the adults joined them. He blushed, then looked down as he slowly slid just a little bit away from her. Clearing his throat, however, he looked up and offered Nadia's parents a warm, yet shy smile.

Nadia couldn't help but wonder just why she had such a reaction to Pat, but was interrupted in her thoughts as the adults came into the room. She quickly looked down, fidgeting with the back of a chair.

Her father motioned for everyone to sit, and she quickly scrambled down into the seat and looked over the food on the table. It was all very casual, lots of home-cooking. No fancy concoctions, no expensive meats and cheeses.

It was what Nadia loved best. It was like Hogwarts food, to be put simply, though five times better in her eyes because her mum cooked it.

Patrick smiled as Nadia scrambled for her chair. One of the things that he liked the most about her was the fact that she was just.. alive. No drama, no angst - she seemed just bubbly and full of energy all the time. And obviously, she loved to eat. He took a seat right next to her, then glanced over the table as well. Yes, it was no fancy, fine five-course dinner, but it looked absolutely divine. "Mrs Dayton, it all looks delicious. Thank you for having us over."

In the smooth, grand tradition of all things gentlemanly about Benjamin Fiddlesticks, he insisted on pulling the chair out for Emily, then insisted on taking a seat next to his son. "The traffic on M24 was dreadful," he confided to them, then shook his head. Ben even had the body language down, leaning forward as he spoke to them and keeping up terrific eye contact. "Have you been to London much, Edward?"

Nadia barely listened as her father spoke to Pat's father. He was babbling on about how they had family in London that they didn't see much, but that he'd gone a few times. Nadia was more caught up in the food, and Pat.

"She made brussel sprouts," she murmured, leaning close with a smile. "If you don't like them, don't worry. No harm."

She had tried to get her mum to make all normal, well-liked food. She'd been bothering her in the kitchen all day, begging for 'those sweet rolls' and 'the stew she makes with the baby carrots'. Emily had finally forced her out of the house to let her cook.

She barely paid attention to the adults, because the fact that Pat had come here to get her father's approval to take her out some other time was making her stomach turn happy flips.

It was absolutely adorable. As Nadia leaned over, smiling and politely informing him of his right to decline brussel sprouts, Pat leaned over as well, smiling as well, and spoke from between his teeth, "..Mum makes me eat them all the time. As long as their are no beans, I think I'll not have a problem eating any of this." He then looked at her from the corner of his eyes, winked, and went back to pretending like he wasn't candidly discussing the obsessiveness of their Mums when it came to healthy food.

Ben was a master of small talk. But then again, businessmen normally was, but it was apparent that he was just use to working people over with words alone. Everything Edward and Emily said was 'So interesting!' or 'Very peculiar, that!' He even went as far as to offer them a free room should they be in town anytime soon, since, as he said, 'Any parents of the friends of my son are not only friends of mine, but welcomed guests!'

As it came time to serve, Benjamin leaned forward, speaking quietly as if afraid to offend them. "I'm sorry; forgive me if this is too forward or out of line or what have you, but do you bless the food?"

Patrick nearly snorted. The Fiddlesticks were not religious in the least bit, but boy did his father love pulling out the prayer offer just in case.

Nadia snorted back a small giggle. Beans, of course, meant gas. And imagining Patrick Fiddlesticks having any sort of bodily function made her want to roll in fits of laughter.

She tried to not pay any attention to his dad and her parents, as she really wanted to just talk with Pat while they had their own time to get to know one another, but it seemed that he pretty much took over. She sighed, relaxing in her seat and remaining unnaturally quiet.

So much for a nice dinner with she and Pat.

When Benjamin asked about grace, both of her parents gave him a nod of approval. Well then, what a surprise! Nadia caught Pat's look of shock, and found the entire situation too humourous. After all, anytime someone offered prayer in her house, her parents --

"Well then!" Emily gasped, thoroughly elated. "Oh, please do us the honour, Benjamin?"

Oh, if not for the fact that he was the absolute master faker incarnate, Benjamin might just find himself in a bit of a mess. "Oh, I'd be absolutely honoured," he said to Emily with a rather charming smile.

He stood, letting his clasped hands rest against his stomach, and bowed his head. Pat gave Nadia a bit of a look, rolled his eyes, then bowed his head as well. "Most gracious Heavenly Father," Ben began, speaking in a voice so smooth and regal that it too almost made Pat choke, "I thank you for the blessing of meeting with this family here tonight, and their hospitality. We ask you to grand us all with health, and bless this meal so that it might strengthen us. Amen."

With the seriousness of a stone statue, he sat.

And Patrick, again, nearly choked.

Emily bounced in her seat as the prayer was done, obviously quite pleased with Benjamin's quick blessing. "My my!" she cried, clapping to herself. "Such a fancy start to our dinner! We should have bought some wine," she added, a touch more softly as she looked to Edward.

He nodded in agreement, then stood, quite prepared to send an owl quickly. "Do you all drink? Ah, we don't let Nana drink but--"

"Eddie!" Emily hissed, looking at him sharply. She mouthed quietly, 'She told us not to call her that with her little friend here!'

Nadia died. Absolutely bloody died. She fought everything in her to not moan, 'Daaaaa...'

Patrick snorted, which caused him to immediately clasp his hand over his face.

He never snorted.

Benjamin, yet again being the master of conversation, decided to ease the poor girl's embarassment at his son's expense. The way he saw it, Edward might feel less terrible for outing her nickname if someone else did it as well. He leaned forward in his seat, as if speaking to them in confidence, and said "Nana? That's absolutely precious! We use to call Patrick 'Beatle-Bee' since as a child, he had this.. infactuation with eating bugs."

Patrick said loudly, damn near squeaking as his cheeks reddened with the most brilliant blush ever.

"Son, why don't you see if Edward and Emily have an owl you might use? Send word to the house for a bottle of our finest," Benjamin said with a grin.

Patrick replied without any hesitations whatsoever. "Yes sir."

"We have an owl out back," Nadia said quickly, standing and tossing her napkin onto the table. "C'mon, I'll show you," she added, smiling to Pat. She headed to the door, waiting on him for just a second before heading out.

"My God how embarassing," she groaned, shaking her head as she held the door open for Pat. "Beatle-Bee.. wow, that's definitely worse than Nana, that's for sure."

She smiled, quite happy to be out of the constant chatter inside. She'd barely gotten to speak with Pat!
