Of course she's the luckiest girl in the world. Sure, Clash at the Demonhead has had better days. You know, when it was still a real band. And the tour's still ruined, and Todd's still a pile of coins and Lynette's still a cheating bitch.
But that was going to be all behind her really soon.
Gideon's decided she's worth salvaging. Not a lot of people get solo careers in the indie scene, but her name's big enough to stand on its own. And she'll be damned if she doesn't love him to the moon and back for it.
She walks to his apartment, a coat wrapped around a skimpy little dress that barely covers her. She looks like a goddamn bombshell, and obviously work's the last thing on her mind. Sure, she gets that having a solo career is a Pretty Big Deal and Requires A Lot of Work or whatever, but they can take one night off. Honestly, it won't kill them. And besides, she's got needs tonight, so that's especially at the forefront of her mind.
She has a pile of DVDs--mostly astonishingly girly movies like Titanic and Love Actually and who knows what else--and a bottle of champagne she'd been saving for a special occasion. (Of course, she had imagined that said special occasion would be with Todd, probably after the fourth album dropped, but she decides she doesn't really care about that right now.)
She knocks on the door, taking care to reapply her lipstick and her hair before he gets to the door. She needs tonight to go well, especially if she wants to stop just being arm candy for Gideon. Tonight, she's gonna rock his world...or so she thinks.
