[While Yuri knows the Blue Rogues (and likely other defense organizations/friends of victims) are working on/taking action on the recent murders, he's still been pretty damn restless. "Stay home and wait for things to go right again" isn't the way he rolls, especially not during a time like this. It didn't help that a lot of people were being ( Read more... )

vigilante senses are tingling, patrols are awesome, he lost track of time; really, everywhere and nowhere

[Hi, Yuri. This is the girlfriend - you know, the one who's not a particularly stellar mother - you left at the house for five hours with a very active toddler. You could, like, leave a note when you do this sort of thing. Or take turns. Seriously.

So consider this her "what the hell Yuri you were out for like 5 hours" face.]

[... Oh right. Leaving notes. That's a good idea, isn't it :|a;

When he gets home and sees that face, he ... honestly looks a little confused.]

... What?

[Yes, yes it is a good idea. Especially with there being a SERIAL KILLER on the loose and all. Some back-up at home or at least some idea of where the hell you are would be beneficial.]

Running off again, Yuri?

[H-He didn't think he'd be out as long as he ended up being out :|; But regardless, he sighs a little at that.]

I think I learned my lesson from the last time. [ ... ] I just lost track of time, that's all.

[This is the expression of an unhappy woman, Yuri. GOT IT MEMORIZED]

There was an incident while you were gone. We needed you here. [PAUSE FOR EFFECT] Your son needed you.

[Definitely memorized. And hearing that definitely gets his full attention, as well.]

What happened?

[She's blocking the doorway, too. You're not allowed to see him, he's probably resting or something D|]

You're lucky Estelle was here to help. It could have been serious.

[He ... really has no words for that. If making him feel like crap was one of your goals, Judy, you've definitely achieved that. And after staying quiet for a moment--]

... How is he now?

[Goal: met! Maybe next time he'll think twice about disappearing for hours at a time.]

It's uncertain. I'm hoping he'll make it through the night without...

[... Judy, you're freaking him out. Except when Yuri honestly gets freaked out, he gets a little ragey-sounding to cover it. Hope you don't mind that.]

If it's that serious, then shouldn't we be calling a doctor instead of just standing around?

[She gives him a moment or two to let it sink in, and then finishes:]

...without waking up. He's been terribly restless all week and keeps crawling around in his crib.

[DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUN.]

[Yeah, with that pause, he's cluing in to the fact that she's just making up a scenario or exaggerating or something. You're getting a very not!amused look now, Judy.]

... Nothing happened, then?

[Hate to break it to you, Yuri, but she's not smiling either.]

What happened is that you disappeared for half the day without a word.

[And with that said she turns away and starts heading for the kitchen, because she's actually kind of pissed at you, boyo.]

[Oh you hold on there missy, he's not done with you just yet.]

I already said that wasn't intentional. What the hell is the point in trying to freak me out over that?

[Then you'd better follow, because she's not stopping.]

It doesn't seem like telling you not to do it has helped any. I thought I'd try something different.

[Thankfully, Yuri's not the follow-you-around-and-continually-rage type, so he doesn't.]

Then congratulations -- it worked. Next time I stay out too late, just yell over the journal that the house burned down and you're the only one who made it out alive. I'm sure that will work just as well.

[After that, he turns around and heads for the front door.]
