she told her momma she needed some time

Occasionally, the Rec Room's good to Rodney Skinner.

For instance, today it's provided him with a deck of cards, of which he is happily taking advantage, shuffling the cards and laying them out into a game of solitaire. Not the most exciting game in the world, perhaps, but he's fond of it, having learned how to play. To be honest, he's learned several new tricks, so to speak, since coming here, and although he does feel the itch coming back around now and again, he's managed to ward off his more unpleasant wants so far. Stealing isn't going to get him very far, here, and more importantly, he doesn't have to, in order to survive.

It's a feeling that, while distinctly new, is one that he finds he can't really object to. He still worries, more often than he'd like to admit, about the state of affairs back home, but he can't really do anything about it. That said, he has complete confidence in the rest of the League.

As he spies someone new walk into the room, he swipes the laid out cards back into a single pile, shuffling them once more before calling out: "Pick a card, any card." He'd never claimed to be a completely smooth operator. Still, the question, he figures, is friendly enough, and besides, he's seen her around before. It's about time they had a proper conversation.
