The writing is a bit odd at this point. I'm not sure what's bothering me. But even though I'm not sure what to think of Yang Kang anymore (except a measure of loathing), the performance is still there.
"A child?"
"Will you still be unable to hate me when I tell you I killed your masters?"
He has no reason to reveal that. It's against the plan. But it feels like he needs to. It feels like a confession, unloading something from his heart. His expressions keep changing. I can see the struggle in his eyes, hear it in his voice, even if I'm not sure it's actually in the script.
I still can't get the murder of OYK out of my thoughts. It was just so horrifying. Trust so casually broken. Devotion so casually used. Not just OYK's, but Nianci's as well. Nianci still hasn't given up on Kang. She remembers what he used to be, and it's so easy to wish broken things mended again. So easy to wish you can call back the wind.
It's harder to watch Jing and Rong having trouble, since they're so healthy in comparison. Devotion holding in its voice both trust and respect -- though both can be tested, badly, when you're on first-name basis with a villain. Someone who knows you well enough to cut the deepest. Ouyang Feng could never damage them like Kang can, and both know it.
So now they sleep scattered and sad, and crows gather on the roof.
