"Uh, hi? Edmund, this is Molly? I got a weird message from you, and I just wanted to check that everything was okay."

"Molly, hello. I didn't try to telephone you, but with the way the lines were acting the other day, it wouldn't surprise me if a message was redirected to you by accident."

"Oh, okay. It sounded a little strange, and...yeah. You're okay, otherwise?"

"Bored," he admitted. "But we've had this conversation. Are you well?"

"Much less confused now, actually. How's the Preserve?"

"It was fine when I was last there, but I haven't been out since it started snowing. I'm not a big fan of trekking through snow." Being tied up and forced to march by a crazed woman who was planning to kill you did that.

"Seriously? How are you not going nuts, being all shut in?"

"My roommate stops in to feed and water me from time to time," he replied dryly.

She snickered. "Does he turn you so you see the sun, too?"

"If I ask nicely. I do get out, though. There's the rec room and the gym and the salle."

"Would you mind if I watched you practice with your sword sometime? I know it weirds some people out, but I like it."

He was quiet for a moment. "Yes," he said quickly. "I mean no. I wouldn't mind. Yes that would be okay."

She'd heard the pause. "Are you sure?"

"Yes," he said slowly. It came out more like 'yyyyyees.' "Yes," he then said normally. This is what happens when the only Daughters of Eve around are your sisters.

Molly fidgeted in her spot on the bed. "When do you practice?"

"Every day. I'm only in the salle a few times a week, but outside I tend to practice every day. Which would you prefer? Indoors or outdoors?"
