There were times when Aslan told Edmund things he actually wanted to hear. That was why he was leaning against the railing of the Splendor Hyaline, one of the royal ships, with the sea breeze whipping his hair about. He watched the horizon for any signs of Doorn, the westernmost of the Lone Islands, but it was still out of sight.
The Narnian ship ploughed forward through the waters, the wind in its sails. They'd made good time. Edmund had left Fandom on Friday, but here they were almost a week and a half into their voyage. It would only be another few days or so with good winds before they reached their destination. There, it was planned, they would spend about a month before making the return trip. Aslan had assured him that he would be back in plenty of time for the start of Fall semester. Edmund didn't care much for that, but he was grateful for the time he had and intended on making the most of it.
