"It would have been that way no matter how long you stayed," Tyler predicted. "If today's the day, then ... you gotta go with that."

He was sorry, though. Sorry he'd lost his way for so long, sorry he'd come back so close to the end.

"Doesn't mean I won't hold you to that promise of a visit," Peter said with a smile. "And, well, at some point, the wedding."

"Anytime you need anything blown up or ... I would say anyone beat up, but I know you can take care of that," Tyler returned. "I'll be there, though. And I wouldn't miss your wedding."

He glanced at the stuff on the bed. "I still never learned to swordfight."

"If we have more trouble from Calormen sniffing around Su, I might take you up on that," Peter said.

He followed the glance. "That's easily fixable." He tilted his head towards Tyler, starting to grin. "You are awfully old now though."

Peter grinned. "1928. And no, I'm not actually almost eighty."

"I dunno, technically I'm 62 years younger than you," Tyler pointed out helpfully. "You're in good shape for your age."

"Yes, well, I've heard that before," he laughed. "Think I'm more comfortable at 18 though."

"And I'm almost used to 27." Tyler shrugged, the subject of age exhausted for him. "Do you know what you're going to do first, when you get back?"

"Probably be attacked by my brother with matters he's had to deal with in my absence," Peter said immediately.

Tyler repressed his laugh at that. "Sounds like big fun. I can understand why you're giving this up if you have that waiting."

Peter grinned. "His way of showing he missed me. Possibly."

"How have your classes been going? Anyone blwo themselves up yet?"

"Nah, though a couple of them would have come close if they hadn't been in the Danger Shop," Tyler said. "I let them make Molotov cocktails last week and they were all excited. They're a good bunch."

"You deserve that," Peter said with a nod. He grinned. "Though I take no responsibility if Madrox decides to blow up a cheesecake in your class."
