The Preserve - Thursday after classes

Peter waited for Willow at the gate to the Preserve.  The rings that he and Susan had found a few weeks ago were safely wrapped up in a handkerchief and stowed in his pocket, and he touched the lump reflexively.  He wasn't any more comfortable with magic than he usually was, but if Willow was confident this would work and it would help Susan...

Willow walked up with a backpack slung over her shoulder. "Hey."

Peter smiled at her and reached for her hand. "Hi. How was class?"

"Quite classy," Willow said. She got on tiptoe to kiss him. "It tried very hard to compete with my love for you."

[once_a_king]

"I'm comfortable coming second place to your classes," Peter replied, kissing her back.

[willbedone]

"Which is just the sort of gallant reply that guarantees you come first," Willow said, giving him a hug.

"Ah ha, you like my chivalry," Peter teased, hugging her back. "Should we go into the Preserve? Back to the clearing?"

"I said gallant, it's not the same," Willow teased back. She hooked her arm through his. "Preserve should be fine. The clearing itself might have magic that'll mess me all up and then Dean and Alec are in different bodies again."

"It's fairly similar," Peter argued. "You can't have one without the other." They entered the Preserve through the gate and took one of the winding trails back. "And as long as it's not me and Alec in each other's bodies, I'm fine with it."

"That would really put a damper on our sex life," Willow said. "I don't think I could sleep with Alec, even if you were in his body."

"Thus my restriction on any body swaps," Peter pointed out.

"I approve of your forward-thinking," Willow said. "You may have a gold star."

[once_a_king]

"And may I trade that in for a kiss?" Peter asked as they came to a bit of a clearing in the woods.

"If you're lucky you could have both," Willow said. She looked around. "This should work."

"I'll have to work on my luck then," Peter replied with a smile. He looked around the clearing as well. "What do you need me to do?"

Willow got down on her knees and began to unpack her backpack. "You could help me set these candles up so they don't fall. I need one at each compass point."

As usual when confronted with the actuality of magic, Peter was a bit tense, but he tried not to give that away as he took the candles from Willow. Checking the direction against the sun, he carefully propped them up at each cardinal point. "Like that then?"
