Cair Paravel: Friday Evening

Nov 07, 2008 18:52

Cair Paravel was almost glowing from all the lights in and around the castle, marking the way clearly for all those travelers coming to the nuptials tomorrow.

The visitors from Fandom and elsewhere were escorted from just the portal just inside the woods to the gates of the castle where they were welcomed warmly and shown to their rooms by an ( Read more... )

Arrival and Settling In once_a_king November 8 2008, 00:18:31 UTC
The Narnians are just a little bit excited about the whole situation and are doing their best to make sure all the guests are comfortably situated.

The rooming situation is completely up to the guests. All the Fandom people are in the same wing of the castle, but if the guests want to share a room or not, its up to them.

Also available are a selection of Narnian clothes that Willow's made available if any of the guests would like to wear them.

Dawn? Absolutely into the Narnian clothes. She dumped her stuff on the bed and changed quickly, intending to unpack later.

Maybe it was a little...uncouth for a castle, but Turtle couldn't help doing the same thing she always did when she had a new bed to sleep in.

Start jumping on it, of course!

If anyone asked, she was simply breaking it in to make sure it was comfortable tonight.

[[ her door is also open, should anyone want to come by ]]

Willow certainly wanted to check on her guests if their doors were open so she took a pass through the quarters and squeaked with great joy. "Turtle! You made it!"

"Well, duh!" Turtle said, rolling her eyes a little as her bouncing on the bed slowed to a stop, and then she hopped off. Now that Willow was going to be a queen, she could totally yell at Turtle for hopping on the bed; not that she imagined Willow really, really would, but she didn't want to take any chances. "Like I could miss your wedding!"

Willow was also getting a hug, whether she liked it or not.

"Jeff's around here somewhere, too. If he doesn't show up in the room in an hour or so, I'm going to have to search all of the castle's broom closets."

Willow was more than happy to hug back. "Okay but be careful with that? Because I'm not exactly sure how it works but it's possible if you hit the right closet you end up in 1940s England."

"Eeep," Turtle said, sucking in a breath. "Well, at least for Jeff, that's still home and only about forty years off. He'd probably do much better there than the last bit, with the 20s Paris he got stuck in. If I don't see him again throughout the weekend, I'll have to check the history books when I get home."

"Oh!" Willow flailed her hands excitedly. "We could send out a search party. I'm not sure I'm allowed to do that yet but Peter totally could. We may even have an entire search party team sitting around waiting for something to do. If nothing else? Talking dogs. Very sweet and helpful."

"I don't know about the dogs," Turtle admitted. "You know how Jeff is about dogs. But, yeah, if he doesn't surface soon, a search party might not be a bad idea."

Although it did sort of dash her hopes of Jeff in a World War II era uniform, which she thought would be very nice indeed.

"Some animals talk here," Willow said. "By which I mean a statistically significant amount more than back in even Fandom, but not all animals which is why there is a qualifier. Plus there's centaurs and fauns and oh you have to meet Mr and Mrs Beaver! They're so sweet and thoughtful and have been nothing but nice to me!"

"I haven't!" Turtle said. "You'll have to introduce us! Are there unicorns, too? Oh, Willow, there's a unicorn in Fandom now! And," Turtle straightened, preening with pride, "he works at my store, even!"

"No way!" Willow bounced with excitement. "Oh how wonderful especially from a diversity in the workplace standpoint! He must be quite the inspiration!"

"That's what I said!" Turtle laughed a little; man, she missed Willow. She didn't even realize it until seeing her just now and it took all of two seconds. "He really is; I mean, he can't do some stuff due to the lack of opposable thumbs, but he can make special deliveries and carry really heavy stuff, and plus, he's a unicorn!"

"Lack of thumbs is less of a problem than some people think," Willow said. "It's only our thumb-centric view that makes it so."

"Oh, I know," Turtle nodded emphatically. "It's amazing how well he can work a register with that horn."
