This chapter made me cry it was so heartbreaking to see Arya having to go through all this hell. I really love how you've captured her innocence here. How she's torn between her loyalty and the reality her mother is gone. It just broke my heart how she grows hopeful when an orphanage is created by her for the child victims of the war. How she so badly wants to believe that deep down a piece of her mother lingers even if consciously she knows its not possible.

The scene where Gendry offers to stand in her place was equally heart wrenching offering his sword as Sandor once offered Sansa his cloak. I never really noticed the similarities between these two men until this chapter but its really clear to me now that they are more alike than one would initially believe. Both surrounded by 'nobles and knights' yet both are more noble than the lot of them combined. Its makes me so glad that the Stark sisters have such good men in their lives to keep them sane even in the midst of such times of madness. How they both keep them grounded and give them hope when there is none to be found.

Beautiful end to the chapter too the foreshadowing and that lingering sense of hope. That if Arya can become death, perhaps in time she can learn to become life again...

This is probably one of the hardest ones I've written just because the characterisation has just been so damn difficult! I have to admit that Sansa is a lot easier than Arya is, and Lady Stoneheart... even more difficult to get right considering we know so little about her or her thought processes.

I do ship Arya and Gendry, I certainly do. Not with the undying fervour of SansaxSandor but I did love their interactions in both the books and the show and I feel that if they hadn't been parted it definitely would've developed into something. He does try to look out for her in canon, and when we see him again later in the books once she's gone he's changed so much, it makes me wonder if part of the anger in him is because he believed he failed her earlier?

You know me, I can't write entirely without hope ;)
