Main reason for that is obvious: Nothing on the general systematic structure of world economy changed after the crisis in 2008/2009.
A few players on the field vanished, and then the casino had its doors opened again...
The most recent political ambitions of the US (or: maybe Trump's alone) trying to impose their image of international trade upon the rest of the world also should add its share to the growing suspense.
So to say: You realize the fight over the pieces of the cake has drastically increased in the recent years. This almost never comes without a reason...
But, something very important to note here - as it's a mistake the Communist thought made in history: If there's an economical crisis going on in the world, it won't completely surpass you. Whether real socialist way to do economy or not, sooner or later it'll reach your sphere too. It might not hit as hard as in other places, but it will go round the world, leaving no place unaffected.
This is because there is no place in the world functioning like an isolated island (except for such an island itself); you always have some certain goods you have to trade between countries in order for them all to have some of them at all.
This applies heavily to natural resources. Not just fossil fuels and energy carriers, but also ore and possibly even food.
It's a big mistake in terms of denial that GDR socialism made - before the oil crisis in the 70s, some of the later very scarce goods (which the West German propaganda bases much of its "socialists are too stupid to do economy"-myth on) weren't a problem.
Well, in that case things also correllate with Ulbricht's death, which seems like having changed something behind the scenes more drastically - but nevertheless, the oil crisis in general made its way around the world. Literally no country could hide from it and the consequences it brought with it.
It's a very big error - and by that also a lack of understanding of how economy works - to deny this and send people home with a "shut the fuck up!"-answer or evasive propaganda-phrases when they question why suddenly even trivial goods are missing in the shelves which were penny goods to achieve just a year before.
