'Cause the topic's still that present in German media, it sure won't vanish so quickly again.
They try to make it gone without giving people a kind of adequate compensation for the fraud, but just because too many people are affected by that and the machinery of banning Diesel cars from the bigger cities tries to roll (which means the worst for commuters - they can't get to their work place with their usual car), the issue can't be hidden so easily under a carpet (simply because there is no carpet so big that it fits under).
Additionally to say, seen from a position of technological progress, this case opens up a topic well-recited in the technological branch and in the overall economy: The (bigger) German technology sector lived under a rock for a pretty long time, still wants to continue to do so, and keeps on selling stuff which will be outdated in a foreseeable timeframe.
I even keep hearing that over and over again for years now when voices from Russia judge the German technological sector.
(As I'd like to put it: The big German industrial and technolgical corporations like to keep making money with a single concept for a hundred years, even if it has become outdated already after twenty. They like to refuse "change" to a concept like fuck.)

Little tip if you don't already do it: Try differing search engines in order to achieve differing results.
The duck can be too imprecise at times, this can be good and bad, but it doesn't have the over-seoed filtering.
Biggest disadvantage on it is that duckduckgo relies on Yandex for indexing sites; I currently see that with
rx_de's stuff. Finally it has discovered the community...
What about the usual kinds of mass media over there in Russia? (as far as you consume them anyway)
I don't know, but I couldn't think they don't care because it's an issue to deliver huge open space to trample on it...
