Room 408, Afternoon

Seifer hadn't come home last night. George should probably feel bad about that. And she did, in the sense of this being his room and all. But she was more grateful than anything. This was all the time she was going to have with Reggie, and he was giving them some privacy. Or maybe he had gotten laid or something? Whatever. She was going to have to buy him some cookies. Or booze. Or whatever.

She had lied to Reggie. George should probably feel bad about that, too. And she did, because Reggie was the only little sister she had ever had, or would ever had. And after being a crappy sister all of Reggie's life, George had straight-up abandoned her, and now George was pretending she wasn't dead. Because ... because she couldn't just flat-out say "you're right, I'm dead, I hang out here in Maryland, you should come visit whenever you get a chance." Because Reggie would visit all the time, and that broke all the really serious important rules.

George didn't exactly give a fuck about rules, but the last time she had tried to break them, Bad Things had happened, so apparently whatever powers were controlling reapers liked to keep these things in order. So if she tried to hang with her little sister on a regular basis, more Bad Things would happen. Possibly to her, which, whatever, and possibly to Reggie, and that was not going to happen.

So instead she was taking Seifer's advice. Pretending all of his was some alternate-universe misfire. Lying and saying that, in George's world, Reggie had been the one to die. And that this was their one chance to make everything up.

It was perfect. It let them have this one weekend, but also let her lie and say that Reggie would never be able to find the mythical portal to bring her back here again. Different universe, remember?

Last night had mostly been cuddles and tears -- which was a weird sentence to go with either of them -- but now, Reggie wanted information. So they were talking, while George sat and brushed Reggie's hair.

"How did I die again?" Reggie asked.

They had to be related. Reggie was just as weird and morbid as she had always been.

(will have links when I am less lazy. door open halfway, post open entirely. george & reggie will be out on the town tomorrow, but they're taking some sister-time today first zomg.)

what: parents' weekend, who: seifer, family: reggie, wtf: reggie's here?!!?!
