Congratulations to the Binghamton Senators on winning the American Hockey League's Calder Cup!! They beat the Houston Aeros by a score of 3-2 last night in Game 6 of the finals to win the series 4 games to 2! There is a victory parade going on right now in Binghamton. I wish I could be there! I also wish I could have gone to some of the games, but couldn't since I don't live at home. One of my father's clients (he is a lawyer) is the team owner, so I could have gotten tickets easily if I was home. I don't know much about the players, but their goalie, Robin Lehner, is only 19 years old! It won't be long before he is in Ottawa playing for the B-Sens NHL affiliate! Steve Stirling, one of the B-Sens' assistant coaches, missed the clinching game with emergency quadruple bypass surgery. He is doing well and we wish him a speedy recovery. Congrats to coach Kurt Keinendorst and the whole team on winning the first championship in Binghamton's 38-year history of professional hockey!
