I'm probably about halfway done the next chapter of Defenders of the Earth. It's essentially an exposition chapter, giving a bit of appropriate back story before we get into the real plot next chapter! I'm excited that the writing seems to be flowing nicely and doesn't feel as awkward as it did before. My hubby even praised a smutty alternate opening to Chapter 2 that I wanted to try out. It didn't quite work so early in, but it felt nice to get positive feedback from my grammar/English nerd of a husband :-)

My main issue right now is TIME. I've decided to start on my Christmas knitting. "But...it's AUGUST" you may be thinking. Yes, it is August. And I thank whatever Higher Power is out there for central air, because scarves and afghans are no fun to knit when it's 85 degrees outside. BUT, including the little things I want to make for my kids at the daycare, I have about 45 projects to knit. In four months. I did the math last night, and that means I have to complete about 3 projects a week for this to work. Plus, some of them are sets, like a hat/scarf/mitten combo or a kitchen set with 4 placemats and 2 dishtowels.

Thankfully, some of the projects can wait until after Christmas, since I have to work about 60 hours the entire week before and can't go home to Philadelphia for the holiday. So I can take my time on about 5-6 projects. Even so, knitting has taken over my life at the moment :-)

My goal is to complete chapter 2 by Sunday night, since I've been taking about half an hour before bed a few nights a week to write. I know exactly how I want the rest of the chapter to go, just having a bit of trouble with a scene between the Doctor and Mickey. I don't know how guys converse :-) I'm going to get some input from my hubby and *fingers crossed* finish things up this weekend.
