Fitness!

Okay, so lots of people are writing about their fitness...things. I'm going to try it. Maybe it will keep me motivated. I'm 37 pounds away from my goal, and I've already dropped about 42. Let's see what happens!



Okay, so there's a race coming to Pittsburgh next year called Run For Your Lives. It's a 5K obstacle course where you run from...wait for it...ZOMBIES!!!! Not real zombies, just people dressed up like them (obvs). But I need to be able to run a 5K. I started the Couch to 5K program a few months back, but let it go after about week 3. This time, I'm going to try and go all the way. You do intervals of walking and running, three times a week. I started over, alternating 60 seconds of running with 90 seconds on walking for 20 minutes. Then, I did about twenty minutes on the elliptical trainer, gradually increasing to level 10. My muscles were screaming, so I stopped at 15 minutes and cooled down. All in all, it wasn't too bad, considering it's been a couple months since I've been to the gym.

I've also been using My Fitness Pal to track my food. There's also a smartphone app you can download for it, and I highly recommend it to anyone trying to watch what they eat. My best friend has used it since June of 2010 and she's lost over 100 pounds. I'm down 42, so it works as long as you keep up with it! If anyone downloads it, let me know so we can be friends :-)

Okay, I'm done now. There also may be a prompt fic this evening :-)
