"All I Saw Was You". “Okay, wow.” Levi raises his eyebrows. “The first thing I said was it was fine if you didn’t want to date me, so it’s fine, really.” Even if it’s fine, it doesn’t mean, he’s not hurt. It’s been a long time since somebody rejected him… it was long ago, it’s impossible to remember who that person was or when that happened. This is really not what his ego needed at this point but he took the risk of doing this and as disappointed as he’s feeling right now, he doesn’t regret it in the least. Taking the first to do it was the hardest thing and after today, it’s supposed to be easier… It should be but looking at Kyle’s face right now, it doesn’t feel that way and he doesn’t feel like doing it again with anybody else. How is he supposed to feel different when he’s going to work with this guy every day?
This was a fucking mistake. He doesn’t want to think so but he can admit when he’s had a bad idea and this one actually enters that category.
“And, come on. You don’t need to apologize for anything,” Levi finally says in the most nonchalant way he can manage. He knows that insisting and trying to change Kyle’s mind would only make it worse and more uncomfortable the next day, so that’s clearly not happening. “I never assumed you would accept and even if I think that being different is actually a good thing, I respect it if you feel that this is not the right time for you. If you wanna be alone or whatever… I’ll be happy just being your friend… but I’m a very patient person… I must say that too.” Levi licks his lips as he leaves those words out there.
Because he is. He knows what waiting feels like. He spent almost half of his life waiting. He’s worked really hard but you don’t get to be where he is right now in his career without doing stuff you don’t want to do-Without patiently accepting certain things and situations that you know are necessary to go through if you have a better future in mind-If your only goal is to succeed and become a star.
And the fact is that it’s been a long time since he didn’t get what he wanted. He still doesn’t get all the roles he wants and he knows that being out is still the main reason but, apart from that, he has more money than he can spend and he can buy anything he wants.
“Besides, I’ve been there,” Levi waves his arms “This is important for you and you have your priorities right now. I totally respect that.”
Kyle licks his lips as he considers if Levi is actually being honest. After all the guy is a really good actor.
“I’m glad you say that,” Kyle nods. “Of course, I want us to be friends. And working with you… I’m having a lot of fun and I’m learning a lot… seriously, it’s being amazing…”
“Yeah, it’s being fun…” Levi nods, smiling. It's not hard to smile whenever he sees Levi excited about his role and their show. There's something really pure and special about it. “The whole team is great and you-” Levi stops himself. Maybe as a friend, that wasn’t the best idea. “I mean, just keep doing what you’re doing and don’t overthink it that much, okay? You’re here because you’re good. That’s all you need to think about if you ever doubt yourself… or talk to me. I’m always happy to listen and help if I can.”
