* I got my official acceptance to VCU as a grad student for Sociology. I just kept getting this feeling that we weren't supposed to go to Baton Rouge. The DAY BEFORE I was accepted to VCU, LSU made an announcement that due to budget cuts they were cutting funding for the Civil War Center (Matthew) and the Population Studies Center (me). That's why we wanted to go to LSU! That was nothing but a God thing, right there!
* My friend, Emily, called me and said she's pregnant. She has 3 kids, separated, living with her boyfriend. He was 1 child biologically and another that he considers his own kid. Those kids come and go, randomly, based on their visitation schedule with their mom. That's up to 5 kids in that house at any given time. Luckily, she went to the doctor, and she her test came back negative. Her health insurance doesn't cover birth control (WTF?), so she's going to save up money for an IUD.
* I've made a list of things that MUST be accomplished before my first day of classes. This list is quite long (21 items) and daunting. I'm starting to get paniced.
* Our official moving date is Sunday, August 22. That is 75 days from today.
