Steps forward [rp for 2012_approaches]

It's not terribly late when Jen calls and it isn't really a crisis call like last time, but she does need guidance.  Now that a decision has been made definite, she's not sure what to do or where to go.  She can hear Alex watching a movie as she retreats upstairs with a mug of ginger tea.  The bedroom is a quiet space where she can make her phone

The life of the devoted therapist, Davis' phone is attached to her and she answers on the second ring. A call like this can only mean two things: Jenny decided to keep the baby or decided to get rid of it. "Dr. Davis," she says as she answers.

[on_jennys_terms]

"Hi, Dr. Davis," she says, scratching at an imaginary spot on the blanket in front of her. It doesn't feel urgent enough to just blurt out, which she thinks she might've done a week ago.

[2012_approaches]

"Good evening, Jenny. How are you tonight?"

[on_jennys_terms]

She pauses a moment before she says, "I'm okay. All things considered." She is at least for the time being, anyway.

[2012_approaches]

"Good." She smiles a bit and relaxes at the fact that this is clearly not a crisis call. "So. What has you gracing my call log this evening."

[on_jennys_terms]

She lets out a slow breath, "Alex and I made a decision yesterday."

[2012_approaches]

"Oh?" Other than being concerned for her patient, she is genuinely curious. "It being?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"We're going to continue the pregnancy." It still doesn't feel like she's talking about herself.

[2012_approaches]

"Okay." She keeps her voice neutral but she is glad Jenny made the decision. She was worried about if they'd decided to terminate. "How are you feeling about it?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"Right now? Better than I expected, but I don't think it has sunk in yet." However, she does feel like it was the right decision. At least tonight.

[2012_approaches]

Davis smiles a bit. "Well, that's good overall."

[on_jennys_terms]

She nods, "Yeah, I guess it is." She's clearly still not sure yet.

[2012_approaches]

"It's okay to be unsure." Davis says gently. "But I'm glad you two came to a decision." She is glad. They can't have another session like they did last time. Jenny doesn't operate well in uncertainty.

[on_jennys_terms]

Again, she nods, "Okay."

[2012_approaches]

"So what are you thinking right now, Jenny?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"I don't really know," she says, "I don't know what to do now." She means besides the obvious make doctors appointments and such.
