Whatta day!!
In the morning, i was waiting for a cab when this man came along, infront of me some 50m away. When a taxi finally arrived, he was pointing straight ahead towards my direction. I was looking at him and thought that it looked like he was pointing at me. Then the cab moved forward towards me. & I went in. I asked the driver what did the man said cos he was pointing straight ahead. The driver said, "the man said that lady came first. Take her first." that man was referring to me. I told the cab uncle that was what I thought he was saying cos he was pointing me. Instead of overtaking and getting the cab first, he gave it to me! What a kind soul! Blessed his heart on this Sunday morning!! So there are still kind souls in Singapore!!
But as I was getting off the cab, uncle shortchanged me. The fare was $6 & I gave the uncle $10. So my change would be $4 right? Wrong. So uncle asked if I had a dollar so he would give me $5. I saw in his hand he had a $5 note & a $2 note. I told him I dun have a dollar but I have $2. So he can give me $6 change. Uncle said he dun haf and in turn he gave me lots of coins - in 50, 20 & 10 cents denominations. I was in a hurry so i asked him, "so this is $4 ah uncle?" he said yea. So I went out of the cab. While walking in a hurry to the office, I counted the money and uncle only gave me $2! I'm so very sad. Its like I experienced 'goodness' & 'badness' almost immediately. But it's ok I suppose.
Then it was work. Let's not talk about work la ok. -_-
After work, came the interesting highlight of the day! I had helped out my friend for her charity event at a kids' welfare home where I was there as a balloon sculpturer. Haha I know. But I don't mind a bit cos I've always wanted to do charity work and well.. It was just a great opportunity and it was for kids, and for the orphanage which I've always wanted to do something with. I love kids. Kids are so innocent you know. I hate adults. :( but life is such.
Anyway, I was shy. HAHAHA I'm not a professional balloon sculpture and I only knew how to make flowers and sword. & I had youtubed how to make flowers and hour before I reached. Fail max. But anyway I did it. The kids were actually friendly. These are the kids who were either abandoned, poor, orphaned, abused or raped. My heart really goes out to these kids. There was this one girl, she asked me if I will b going to geylang with them, so she can go with me. I don't remember what I told her. To make a long story short, I went home before breaking fast bcos it was just too crowded at the orphanage with the organizers and friends and I had no friends as my friend was busy handling guests. Thing is, I should've said bye to the girl. I didn't said goodbye to any of them. I'm too sad. So I'll probably be making my way back there again... When I know how to. I'm so looking forward to it. It's a step.
I also do want to do volunteerism work under mercy relief or something. You know like building a school in Laos or teach English in indonesia or building a home in Mongolia. But i just need the money now. & I supposed before venturing out to other countries. I should help out my own fellowmen first right? It's definitely a step today & I'm beyond fortunate and grateful to be given abundant opportunities, today and beyond :)
Thing is I learnt that not to be afraid to dream cos one day, you will catch up with up with your dream. #keepingthefaith
Well it can't be said the same about my dream guy cos I found him, but God had other plans for me, for us. But that's a story for another day.
