Being by myself at work leads to boredom updates...

Why is it always the last few hours of work that always slow to an agonizing crawl? I'm the only one left, so I guess business being slow is a blessing, but...still... *snore*

Wow, lots of significant changes since I posted last! First, I turned 24 on June 14th! Less than a year now until I'm a quarter-of-a-century old! D: I guess I really shouldn't be complaining about my age (yet). Mid-20s isn't too bad. It's kind of a weird age bracket. You start to FEEL older but people don't really see you as older, they still have the tendency to view you as a reckless youth. Although, after paying my first full rent check, I sure as heck feel like an adult.

Speaking of, I am officially moved into my own apartment in Gainesville! :D FREEDOM! INDEPENDCE! BILLS! ....wait.... o_o oh crap, what have I done to myself?? XD Anyhoo, I moved into my apartment on June 21st, which was a few weeks earlier than was originally planned for. Originally we were going to be moving into a unit that was being vacated in early July, but the people that were leaving retracted their notice and were no longer leaving. Therefore, we either had to move in to the only other available place by June 21st or be put on a waiting list, and lord knows when we would've gotten a place then. SOOO, we moved early. It was a little more rushed that I had intended, but we worked it out. Life with my roomie is pretty awesome so far. I still have boxes I haven't unpacked, though. I'm lazy. ¬_¬

Spent the 4th of July up near Akron, Ohio at my Aunt & Uncle's house. The drive up wasn't too bad since i left on Saturday, but the drive back down on Monday was a bi-atch. >_< But anyway, much fun was had by all. I was the only one of the cousins to make it this year (other than Michael and Jessie who live there, of course...).

After going back to work for two days (wow, what a load, lol), I had time off to venture down to King's Dominion with Andrea for King's Fest 2010! It was wicked awesome, but I'm not sure I have the stamina anymore for all three days of it. Between walking around the park, riding rides, and rocking-out at concerts my feet were killing me and I was exhausted. @_@ However, seeing Skillet, TobyMac, Fireflight and Casting Crowns was totally worth it. Sad that Jeremy Camp and the Newsboys weren't there this year (but Newsboys just aren't the same without Peter Furler anyway...), but oh well.

Now it's back to the grind. Still uncertain as to whether or not I'm going to Otakon this year. Between getting the time off and having the available funds (registration, hotel, food, parking, etc... all of these things cost dough) it's probably not happening though. *sigh* Meh, I guess I'll just save up for Katsucon in February or maybe on of the smaller cons later this year. We'll see.

Oh! Got the newest book in the Temeraire series, "Tongues of Serpents", and got it signed by Naomi Novik at her book signing near Falls Church last night! :D She did a reading of a rather amusing short story she had written, answered some questions about the Temeraire series, and then signed stuff! She's totally awesome! ^_^ *fangirl squee*

That's all for now amigos. I wonder how many people on my friend list still actually check LJ? Well, it should transfer over to facebook too, so I guess more people will still read it there!
