so i started re-reading Good Omens today on one of those whim things, which turned out to be a very good decision. the entire book is so fucking quotable, but what always makes me get all high-pitched are ones like this right heah;
'On the back seat the thing in the basket began to cry; the air-raid siren wail of the newly born. High. Wordless. And old.'
oh yes.
and also, '-then you still won't have finished watching The Sound of Music.'
ahahaha. if you understood that, you pwn.
you know who else pwns? and pwns me specifically? the arcade fire. seriously. SO GOOD OMG. and 'cars and telephones'! that song alsksjfhg it's like pure, distilled nostalgia somehow metamorphosed into sound. yeah. i don't get it either.
i watched PoA today, and i came to some actual conclusions. a) those kids cannot act [very well]. i just- i cringe when i sit through it, but i do sit through it because the movies are so pretty [and because of the Oldman action and the gayness and YEH YOU KNOW THE REST]. but i can never shake the 'THIS IS MY LINE AND I AM SAYING IT NOW' vibes i get from all of them. the adult acting is fantastic, though. i mean, holy shit. good stuff.
and yes, i am excited about GoF in certain ways. mostly the fire and the action and the VOLDEMORT WTF.
also, RICHARD HARRIS WAS GOD, OKAY.
