bpal review - samhain 2006

Feb 06, 2007 15:22

Wheee! My first bpal order arrived today and the woman who sold it to me included one of the scents I had really wanted to try (Samhain 2006) as a freebie. I ended up putting that one on first. I am definitely going to need to work on my scent describing vocabulary, but this is lovely. I was a little worried as I put it on my skin - I was getting a woodsmoke smell, but I think that has completely disappeared. I'm definitely getting apples - but not in a "I'm smelling food I want to eat sort of way" and the apples are wrapped up in yummy fall spice smells. It's a warm and cozy scent - they definitely succeeded in making me smell like autumn. It has a light touch of sweetness, but that may be me as I tend to make scents sweeter than they are. I keep wanting Jenna to try this given her love of autumn. I don't think this will be a frequently worn scent, there is an element that makes me think it would be a better scented candle or room scent than a person scent, but if you're having a day when you want it to feel like fall all day long - this is what you want to wear.

Official bpal description: All the depth, beauty, and darkness of All Hallows Eve. Truly, the scent of autumn itself -- damp woods, fir needle and black patchoulli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein.
