had a successful mushroom foray this weekend. Chanterelles and boletes were found and happily consumed. Most exciting, though, was stumbling across Hydnellum peckii (strawberries and cream fungus) under a log. On the scale of cosmic weirdness, this thing ranks high along with stink horns and corpse flower.
Apparently the ruby-colored juice is an anticoagulent. I'm dying to know, WTF?
