1. Minor Threat started the straight edge movement. (Not quite, no. Half right.)

2. D.O.A. were the first to use the Hardcore label. (Again, close but no cigar.)

3. The Replacements were a hardcore band. (Maybe if you squint. But not for very long.)

4. The Rollins Band was hardcore. (Um. Just, no.)

Unrelated, but vaguely amusing:

1. Hardcore or not, I can't resist using the Offspring remake of "Feelings." Trust me, you'll thank me later.

2. The reason it's taken me so long to finish the hardcore section of the punk history posts? I don't like hardcore all that much. It's like rap--has great moments, but as a movement, you kind of had to be there to appreciate it.

It doesn't translate well to a playlist.

3. I still don't like Husker Du, with or without the funny punctuation.
