Some dudebros on Facebook got miffed about women running fanpages and called them "c*nts" last night - in the Monkees fandom. WTF, guys? This is, like, the original boy band here. Of course there are going to be female-run fanspaces! What is this, classic rock dudebroism?

Possibly, but they didn't start out as obvious ones. They seemed to genuinely want to participate, right up until they found that the host/moderator was female, and then they went off the deep end.

It strikes me that anyone who can show up at a Monkees fan forum and be surprised that there are female forumrunners is in for a rough life, perhaps deservedly.
