Haha yeah... they glazed right over that one. But as I was watching it, I thought maybe she thought of it because they were doing "sawasdee" hands, which is basically the same gesture as namaste.
to be fair, sawatdeekah in thai means hello, not thank you. i think they mixed up a few between thank yous and greetings, since they were saying they knew a bit of both from lots of languages
Oh yeah sorry lol I just don't know how to spell (or say) the thai for thank you, but the hand gesture looked the same to me as sawasdee so I described it as that.
oh no, i didn't mean to call you out or anything! i don't really know that much thai. actually i pretty much only know hello (sawatdee kah/krap) and thank you (kapkun kah/krap)! i just meant that i was assuming WG had mixed it up in the video, which is understandable since they know both hello and thank you in many languages :)
Hehe, as far as I know they got the Thai part right, it's the Hindi one that was wrong. Since one happened right after the other, I figure she got mixed up because the Thai hand gesture reminded her of "namaste".
But can I just say 'Namaste' does not mean Thank you.. ^^;;
