Actor and singer Cha Eun-woo received a commendation from the minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the 2024 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards in recognition of his contributions to Korean culture through music, acting and his impact on global audiences.
Now in its 15th year, this annual award ceremony honors individuals across various fields - including music, acting, comedy and voice acting - for their contributions and achievements in popular culture and the arts.
Due to prior commitments, Cha was unable to attend the ceremony in person but shared his gratitude through his agency, Fantagio. “I am truly grateful to receive this award at such a meaningful event," Cha said. "I will continue to work hard to showcase the positive influence of Korean culture worldwide and to greet fans with even better performances.”
Cha has enjoyed a successful year, marked by his solo debut album “ENTITY,” released in February, for which he participated in songwriting. He also completed his solo fan-con tour, “2024 Just One 10 Minute [Mystery Elevator],” across 11 cities worldwide in July.
In August, he released a collaborative single, “Hey Hello,” with pop artist Peder Elias, first performed during his encore fan concert in Seoul, receiving a positive reception from fans.
Cha has also shown his acting versatility, taking on lead roles in the dramas “A Good Day to Be a Dog” and “Wonderful World.” He will meet with fans again in tvN’s upcoming variety show "Finland’s Rented Room" (tentative title), set to premiere on Nov. 6.
