BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s team has addressed misunderstandings regarding her fandom name.
On the 19th of September, Jennie released an audio message through her agency’s official channel, referring to her fans as “Ruby,” saying, “Keep watching. Let’s meet soon.” This led to speculation that Jennie’s official fandom name might be “Ruby.”
However, confusion arose as the singer Kwon Eunbi’s official fandom is already named “Ruby.”
In response, a representative from Jennie’s agency, OA Entertainment, clarified to Xports News, “It was just an informal term used to address fans in a news update, not an official fandom name announcement,” stressing that “Ruby” is not her official fandom name.
They further explained that Jennie’s full English name is “Jennie Ruby Jane,” and she was simply using part of her name, “Ruby,” to address fans. Previously, Jennie had also trademarked the name “Jennie Ruby Jane.”
Meanwhile, Jennie is preparing for a solo comeback in October after signing a partnership with Columbia Records, a major U.S. label.
