Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 1st week in August, 2016 to see what was on top.

#3 Wonder Girls “Why So Lonely”
The first Wonder Girls single not written by JYP, and instead written by members Sunmi, Yubin, and Hyerim. The song was released for the group’s 10 year anniversary. It would end up being their penultimate release. Here’s a live stage (with choreo) on M Countdown.

#2 Gfriend “Navillera”
The follow up to “Rough”, it would follow similar success and being the group’s second #1 hit. It was the lead single of the group’s first full album, “LOL”. The song would give the girls 14 music show wins, including three triple crowns. Here’s the group doing the song at KCON LA a few months after its release.

#1 Standing Egg “Summer Night You And I”
This is the indie’s band only #1 song on the charts. They made their debut in 2010, and are still releasing music and performing. Here’s an acoustic live video by a campfire. So sweet.
