Set up in 2023 by former CEO of SM Entertainment Nikki Semin Han, Titan is touted as the first premier K-pop powerhouse music company headquartered in the United States. Speaking to Variety after its launch, the company announced its plans to debut two K-pop girl groups, two boy groups, one male soloist, and one female soloist by 2028. AtHeart's debut, slated for early 2025, is now setting the wheels in motion for the new company.

On July 16, Titan officially announced AtHeart as its first girl group and introduced the first two members: Sorin and Michi, hailing from South Korea and Hawaii, respectively.

"The name 'AtHeart' speaks to this group's genuine nature and the connection and love they will build with their fans by empowering them to be their authentic selves," Titan CEO Katie Kang told Billboard to coincide with the group's announcement. “Titan has been scouting and holding global auditions since the beginning of 2024, and we were captivated by the incredible talent we discovered. These members are so uniquely charming, and they embody the next generation of K-pop.”

When and why did you decide to pursue being an idol?
I started thinking about and preparing to become a K-pop idol when I was 15. [But] looking back, I have always wanted to be an idol, even before that. I loved dancing and singing but didn’t think I was the right person for it, so I kept my dream hidden. Then, I had the chance to dance in front of a large audience, and that performance changed everything. The joy and support I felt on stage were overwhelming, and I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t try. That’s when I decided to pursue my dream of becoming an idol.

Can you share some of your biggest influences - genres or artists - growing up and now?
The artists that have influenced me the most are BLACKPINK and DPR LIVE. Seeing their performances solidified my dream of becoming an idol. Just watching their amazing performances makes me forget everything else and focus on the music, inspiring me to think, “I want to be an artist like them and touch people’s hearts.” I also love how they bring a creative and unique style to their music every time.

What do you feel is your strength as a performer?
My greatest strength as a performer is my unique charisma and energy that only I possess. Just as everyone has their own charm and individuality, I believe my distinctive style and ability to connect deeply with people set me apart. Whether on stage or off, I always strive to showcase my heartfelt passion and authenticity. This genuine connection and vibrant energy are what I believe to be my greatest strength, making my performances truly special.

What are you most excited for people to see when you debut?
When we debut, I hope people will see us genuinely enjoying ourselves on stage and love the way we perform. I’ve always dreamed of having a shining moment on stage, and it’s exciting to imagine myself there, putting all my energy into it. I hope this will be a good memory for many people and will inspire them to keep going, too.

When and why did you decide to pursue being an idol?
I think I have always wanted to be an idol. Ever since I was young, I always enjoyed dancing, acting, and singing on stage. My love for music and K-pop grew especially when I started to perform K-pop dance covers with my friends at school. Then, passing TITAN’s global audition and taking the opportunity to become an idol was a dream come true. It is so exciting for me to be able to do what I love and what I have worked hard towards. It makes me happy to be able to spread joy to people through music and performing!

Can you share some of your biggest influences - genres or artists - growing up and now?
My biggest influences in music right now are NewJeans and PinkPantheress. Lately, I’ve been into their upbeat and groovy styles, which always get me moving and inspired and I look up to them so much as artists and performers. Growing up and even now, I love listening to all styles of music from old bands to new rap music. I admire how, no matter what the genre is, you can always discover new things you enjoy. This wide range of musical influences has shaped my own style and will continue to inspire me on my journey as an artist.

What do you feel is your strength as a performer?
I think my strength as a performer is my passion for what I do! I always strive to do my best at everything with a positive attitude. This passion and dedication drive me to continuously improve and be the best at whatever I do. I also feel very confident while dancing since I have been doing it for so long, which is why I think it is also another one of my strengths. So, my passion and experience together will make me a stronger and more dynamic performer.

What are you most excited for people to see when you debut?
When we debut, I am most excited for everyone to see us bring a fresh energy to the K-pop scene. Our group has diverse backgrounds, talents, and personalities, which I believe will set us apart and create a unique and captivating dynamic. I imagine that our dynamic will allow for a blend of styles and perspectives to not only be exciting but also resonate with many fans around the world.
