Flashback Friday
Happy Friday! Every week I check the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we’re going back to the 4th week in June, 2015. We’ll see a bunch of comeback stages this week. It feels like summer now.
#3 Baek A Yeon feat. Day6 Young K “Shouldn’t Have”
This was her first self composed song, and her first #1 song on the charts. It was a sleeper hit, and would peak at the top spot a month after its initial release. It is still her biggest selling song. Here’s her comeback stage on M Countdown with Young K.
#2 AOA “Heart Attack”
This was the group’s only Korean release for the year. The song was the title track of an EP of the same name. The song would peak at the #2 spot on the charts, and is the group’s best selling single. Japanese and Chinese versions of the song were also released the following month. It’s also one of my most favorite songs from them! Here’s a stage from Music Core. I miss this shit lol. Just a little fun, cute, and sexy bop.
#1 Sistar “Shake It”
Another fun, cute, and sexy bop from the Summer Queens! This is the title track of the group’s EP of the same name. The song would be their 7th straight #1 on the charts. It would also win a handful of music show trophies. It would be the group’s only Korean release for the year. Let’s check out a stage from M Countdown.
Honorable Mentions
#6 EXO “Love Me Right”
This was the lead single from the album of the same name. It was a repackage of the “Exodus” album, which was released three months prior. It was a big hit and would peak at the top spot. The song also won 11 trophies across 6 music shows. A Japanese version of the song would serve as their official Japanese debut. Here’s the group’s comeback stage on M Countdown.
#8 Teen Top “Ah-Ah”
This was the lead single from the group’s “Natural Born Teen Top” EP. I don’t remember this at all lol. But here’s their comeback on M Countdown. Teen Top fancy footwork and crotch grabbing choreo feel very familiar tho lol.
