Flashback Friday
Happy Friday. Every week I go through the charts for this week in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week we are going back to the 5th week in May, 2013. I remember a few of these songs, what about you?
#3 BEAST “Will You Be Alright”
This was a digital single that would later be included in their album “Hard To Love, How To Love” a month later. The song would take the top spot on the charts. I don’t remember this one at all. For some reason, the official music video is only 43 seconds long. What was the point? I dunno, but here’s a live stage from Music Core. An outdoor stage! You know I love those lol!
#2 Leessang “In The Rain”
This song was part of a compilation album that celebrates the work of composer Lee Young Hoon. The song was originally written for Lee Moonsae in 1985. Leessang would cover it for this album, and John Park would cover it a year later. I do not remember this at all.
#1 CL “The Baddest Female”
This would serve as her official solo debut. I haven’t thought about this in a long time lol. One view of the MV and it all came back to me. Her legs, GD’s legs (and those Mugler shorts which I unironically love on him), “not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good”, Mademoiselle Yulia, do the unnie…oh this was a trip!

#8 B1A4 “What’s Happening”
This was the lead single from the group’s EP of the same name. It would give them their first ever music show win. It is also one of their biggest selling songs. The song didn’t seem familiar to me until it got to the chorus. They would follow up promotions with a solo concert series. Here’s their comeback stage on Music Core with some loud fanchants.
#9 Shinhwa “This Love”
“This Love” more like “That Bitch” amirite guys? To celebrate their 15th anniversary, they released their 11th full album, with this song as the lead single. I loved this 11 years ago, and will probably love it forever. It’s been awhile, so let’s check out the dance video again. I say it everytime, but I feel like this works because they all really committed to the choreo. They look so good!
