Yoon Hyuk (real name Lee Yoon Hyuk) from the duo December has been sentenced to 6 years in prison for fraud.

On May 24, the sentencing trial for Yoon Hyuk, who was arrested and prosecuted for fraud under the Specific Economic Crimes Punishment Act, was held at the Incheon District Court’s Criminal 15th Division. Yoon Hyuk was sentenced to 6 years in prison on the day of the trial.

The judge stated, “Although the defendant is in a state of reflection and has not received criminal penalties beyond fines before, he embezzled a considerable amount of money and continued the crime even while the investigation was ongoing. The victim is suffering mentally from the crime committed by the defendant (Yoon Hyuk), who was a beloved celebrity to her. The victim has requested a severe punishment.”

Previously, during the sentencing hearing on April 2, the prosecution had sought a 10-year prison term for Yoon Hyuk. According to the prosecution, Yoon Hyuk deceived approximately 20 people by collecting investment funds under the pretext of a cosmetics distribution business involving a famous celebrity and did not return the funds, causing damages. The total amount of damages is approximately 1.7 billion won [$1.24 million]. Yoon Hyuk was arrested and prosecuted on June 7 last year. Yoon Hyuk has denied some of the charges.

Yoon Hyuk made his debut in 2009 with the regular 1st album “Dear My Lover” as part of the duo December. He started solo activities after leaving the group in 2019.

In 2017, Yoon Hyuk temporarily halted his activities when he was caught driving without a license during a police checkpoint. It was revealed that he was driving a vehicle despite having his license revoked due to a previous drunk driving incident.
