Flashback Friday
Happy Friday! Every week I go through the charts for this week in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s see what was on top for the 2nd week in April, 2016. I barely remember this week, maybe you remember more.
#3 Red Velvet “One Of Those Nights”
This was the lead single from the group’s EP, “The Velvet”. It was the follow up to 2015’s “The Red”, and in contrast focused on more of their R&B “velvet” concept. The song would win a handful of music show trophies, one for every show. Here’s a stage from Music Core.
#2 Eric Nam “Good For You”
This was the lead single from his 2nd EP, “Interview”. This was a busy month for him, and he would be collaborating with two artists on the charts this week. A single for SM Station with Red Velvet’s Wendy, and he would join We Got Married with someone else on this list. Here’s his comeback stage on M Countdown.
#1 Mamamoo “You’re The Best”
This was their big breakout song. It was their song to peak at the top of the charts, and would also give them their first music show win. It is still one of the group’s best selling songs. Group member Solar was Eric Nam’s partner on We Got Married, and they would win the Best Couple award at the Entertainment Awards at the end of the year.

#5 GOT7 “Fly”
This was the lead single from the group’s EP, “Flight Log: Departure”, the first in their “Flight Log” series. The song would win six music show trophies. The group would follow up promotions with their first world tour, the “Fly Tour”. Here’s the group’s comeback stage at M Countdown.
#10 Block B “A Few Years Later”
This was the group’s first comeback together in over a year and a half. It was a pre-release a month before their EP, “Blooming Period”, dropped. The song would peak at #3 on the charts. They would follow up promotions with concerts in Seoul before the album’s official release.
