Flashback Friday

Mar 29, 2024 13:24

Happy Friday! Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 5th week in March, 2017. I only remember one song this week, maybe you remember more.

#3 Highlight “Plz Don’t Be Sad”
This was one of the singles from the group’s “Can You Feel It?” EP, their first release after leaving CUBE and rebranding under a new name. Both the album and the song would reach the top spot on the charts. The group would follow up promotions with their first tour under the Highlight name. Here’s their comeback stage at M Countdown.

#2 Girl’s Day “I’ll Be Yours”
After almost 2 years away due to solo work, the group made their comeback together with a new EP, “Girl’s Day Everyday 5”. This was the title track, and both the song and album would peak at #2 on the charts. This would be the group’s last release together. They all left Dream T in 2019, and the group is still on a hiatus. Here’s the group’s comeback stage at M Countdown.

#1 IU “Through The Night”
This was a pre-release from her 4th album, “Palette”. This was a very successful year for her, musically, and this would be her best selling song. It is also still the 3rd best selling single in Korea, with over 7 million sold. Let’s check out a stage from Sketchbook.
