South Korean actors Kim Tae-hee and Park Hae-soo are set to make their Hollywood debuts via Amazon Prime Video's new spy thriller series, "Butterfly," according to the agencies representing the two actors, Tuesday.
The six-part series about former Central Intelligence Agency agent David Jung (played by Daniel Dae Kim) and a sociopathic CIA agent named Rebecca (played by Reina Hardesty), is adapted from the graphic novel of the same title authored by Marguerite Bennett.
Kim Tae-hee has been cast in a major role, according to her agency, Story J Company.
Kim is known for her leading roles in Korean hit dramas such as "Iris" (2009) and "Love Story in Harvard" (2004).
Meanwhile, Park will make a special appearance in the new series according to his agency, BH Entertainment. His role has yet to be disclosed.
Park was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor award at the 74th Emmy Awards for his role as Jo Sang-woo in the Netflix series, "Squid Game." The actor also solidified his position on the global stage by taking the lead in the Netflix hit series, "Narco-Saints" (2022).
"Butterfly" will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The release date for the drama series has not been confirmed.
