Happy Friday! Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week we are going back to the 1st week in November, 2009. I only remember a few songs this week.
#3 Park Bom “You And I”
Following the release of 2NE1’s debut EP, the members would also begin solo activities. Bom would be the second member to release a solo single, after Dara. The song was a hit, and would sell over a million. It also won a MAMA for Best Digital Single. Here’s a live stage of the song from when she appeared on the first series of Queendom in 2019.

#2 Brown Eyed Girls “Sign”
This was the group’s follow up to their huge hit, “Abracadabra”. Following promotions, the girls would focus on a Japanese debut and solo work. It would be their last Korean group release for almost two years. I remember this era mostly because of the choreography. Here’s a live stage from Music Core. So live that you can hear the click of the fans opening and closing.

#1 2PM “Tired Of Waiting”
This was the group’s follow up to “Again And Again” that was released earlier in the Spring. I don’t remember this song at all. But then again, the group was going through a wild time. No but I can’t believe we still don’t know for sure why Jaebeom left. Anyway. Here’s a concert stage from their “Six Beautiful Days Tour” in Japan from 2012.

Honorable Mentions
#5 f(x) “Chu”
This was their follow up to their debut single. Somewhat OT but I totally forgot that 2NE1 and f(x) debuted in the same year. I also don’t think of this song much. Like, I remember the song, but not the era. Here’s a stage from Music Core. I forgot their early choreography. Just random gymnastics choreo from Victoria thrown in lol.

#8 SeeYa “His Voice”
Another group that went through a member lineup change in 2009, SeeYa returns with a new album, “Rebloom”. It was the first release without Nam Gyuri, and the first with Lee Soomi. It was released at a good time, following the successful Women’s Generation (the project group with SeeYa, T-ara, and Davichi) promotions. Here’s their comeback on Music Core.
