G-DRAGON, LE SSERAFIM's Chaewon, (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon, BTS and Park Sun Joo deny drug use (rumors)

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon has denied reports of his drug use and has promised to “actively cooperate” with police investigations.

On October 25, it was reported that G-Dragon had been booked by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on drug-related charges.

Two days later, on October 27, G-Dragon’s attorney released a formal statement in which the singer personally denied having used drugs.

"This is Kwon Ji Yong [G-Dragon’s given name]. First, there is no truth to the [claim] that I have taken drugs. Additionally, I have no relation to the news reports about the violation of the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc. that was recently revealed in the media. However, because I know many people are concerned, I will actively cooperate with police investigations and will participate even more diligently."



LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Chaewon, (G)I-DLE’s Jeon Soyeon, singer-songwriter Park Sun Joo and BTS have released statements denying drug-related rumors.

On October 25, it was revealed that BIGBANG’s G-Dragon was booked on drug charges following actor Lee Sun Gyun. Along with G-Dragon, more celebrities were also reported to be booked on drug charges, and rumors about Kim Chaewon, Jeon Soyeon, BTS and Park Sun Joo circulated on online communities.

On October 26, LE SSERAFIM’s agency SOURCE MUSIC stated, “The rumors about Kim Chaewon are not true at all. Kim Chaewon is recovering from the aftereffects of the flu and is scheduled to resume her activities on November 1.”

Jeon Soyeon’s agency Cube Entertainment and Park Sun Joo’s agency also both shared, “The drug rumors are groundless.” Cube Entertainment added, “We will take strong action against the spread of false rumors.”

BIGHIT MUSIC briefly commented, “BTS is completely unconnected to the relevant rumor, and [the rumor] is not true in the slightest.” They added, “We will take strong action against the indiscriminate circulation of rumors.”

The police also clarified, “The stories about the female singers are misinformation.”
