New boy group BLIT, formed by seven former “Boys Planet” contestants, has changed their team name to EVNNE!

On August 9, the group’s agency Jellyfish Entertainment announced that they had discovered a hidden negative connotation in the previously announced name BLIT and had decided to change the group’s name to prevent any potential misinterpretation in the future.

The new name EVNNE (pronounced “Even”) is revealed to be the nickname that Jellyfish and the members used to refer to the group ever since the initial idea of forming the group was first pitched. After discovering the issue with the previous team name, Jellyfish consulted with the members and together they selected EVNNE as the new group name.

EVNNE is an acronym for “EVENing’s Newest Etoiles,” meaning a new rising star in the night sky. The name shows the group’s determination to shine brightly at the highest spot and attract everyone’s attention.

Following the name change, EVNNE also launched official social media accounts and dropped their first group photo as well as individual selfies.

EVNNE consists of former “Boys Planet” contestants Park Han Bin, Lee Jeong Hyeon, Mun Jung Hyun, Park Ji Hoo, Yoo Seung Eon, Ji Yun Seo, and Keita. EVNNE will be managed by Jellyfish Entertainment and is set to debut in the second half of this year.
