Hwasa signs with P Nation during Psy's concert, they comment on her dating rumor
On June 30, Hwasa made a surprise appearance at PSY’s “SUMMER SWAG 2023” concert in Seoul.
At one point during the show, PSY told the audience, “I run a small agency called P NATION. The company says we have an important contract to sign.” Then, as a table was suddenly carried out onto the stage, he playfully asked the crowd for their “understanding,” explaining that he needed to pause the show to sign this important contract.
As it turned out, the contract in question was with Hwasa, who had recently been in talks to sign with P NATION after leaving her longtime agency RBW. After the singer made a dramatic entrance to the opening of her hit song “Maria,” the crowd erupted in cheers as she signed her exclusive contract on the spot.
Once she’d signed her new contract with P NATION, Hwasa hugged PSY and posed for a photo before jumping straight into her performance of “Maria.”
Afterwards, she introduced herself as “Hwasa, who just joined P NATION a few minutes ago.” She went on to add, “I really just signed a contract with the agency a few minutes ago. It wasn’t a performance; I actually signed a real contract. After discussing [the specifics] of the contract for a while, we worked everything out today.”
On June 30, Korean news outlet Sports Seoul reported that Hwasa is currently dating an entrepreneur 12 years her senior who used to work in the music industry. The report also claimed that the two have been in a relationship for the past five years.
Later that day, Hwasa signed an exclusive contract with P NATION on stage at PSY’s concert after leaving her longtime agency RBW.
Two days later, on July 2, P NATION made an official statement regarding the rumors about Hwasa.
“Regarding the recent dating rumors, because they are about the artist’s personal life, it is difficult for us to confirm whether they are true,” said the agency. “We ask for your understanding. We apologize.”
