Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 2nd week of May, 2012. I don’t remember much from this week. Maybe you remember more.

#3 Girls’ Generation TTS “Twinkle”
This was the debut release from Girls’ Generation’s first unit group, featuring members Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun. “Twinkle” was their first single from the EP of the same name. Both the song and the album would hit the top spot on the charts. This is also the trio’s best selling single. I have faint memories of the song and era. Like, I remember Jessica was supposed to be in this?

#2 IU “Peach”
In between her Japanese debut and her first concert tour, IU released a single album. This was her third composition, with lyrics that were inspired by Sulli. The song would peak #2 on the charts. I’ve posted this stage before, but there is no MV for this song and I can’t any other live performances.

#1 Baek ji Young featuring Gary “Voice”
This was a pre-release ahead of her second EP, “Good Boy”. The song is a ballad, compared to the dance album she would release a week later. This song was a success, and it is one of her best selling songs. Here’s a live stage from MBC’s Beautiful Concert. The camera is just weird lol. The whole performance, just weird camera angles lol. Like this thumbnail wtf. Why was this shot necessary? Why am I so annoyed idk lol.

Honorable Mentions

#4 Park Jin Young “You’re The One”
This was the lead single from his EP, “Spring”. I don’t remember this at all, but it is his best selling single. The song would peak in the top three on the charts. I feel like his songs all sound similar.

#10 Apink “Hush”
This was the lead single from the group’s first full album, “Une Année”. Both the song and the album performed very well. I kinda remember this. The song sounds familiar to me, but I don’t remember it being Apink at all. Here’s a performance from Music Core.
