Flashback Friday
Happy Friday! Every week I check the charts for this day in the past and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to see what was on top for the 4th week in March, 2015.
#3 VIXX “Love Equation”
This was a single from their special single album, “Boys’ Record”. I don’t remember this era at all. But apparently it was pretty successful for the group. This song would give them group eight music show trophies and their first music show triple crown. It was also nominated for MAMA’s SOTY at the end of the year.
#2 XIA featuring Tablo “Flower”
This was the title track of his third album of the same name. The album would debut at the top spot on the charts in both Korea and Japan. On the same day the album was released, he began his third Asian tour. I remember this happening, but I don’t remember the song at all. I think I do remember this MV though.
#1 Shinhwa “Sniper”
This was the lead single from the group’s 14th full album, “We”. It was their first release in almost two years. The group would win ten music show trophies. Following the song’s promotions, the group held their 17th anniversary concert tour. Here’s a live stage from Music Bank. Also, Eric and his wife had a baby earlier this month, the first Shinhwa baby! And I don’t know if Andy is still managing TOP Media, but wtf is going on over there lately.
Honorable Mentions
#5 4Minute “Crazy”
This was the title track of the group’s sixth EP of the same name. I know I’m in the minority, but this song does nothing for me lol. But I remember this era so clearly though. I remember one of the group members did the styling this era. The song would peak at #3 on the charts, and win a total of 7 music show trophies. It would end up being the group’s penultimate single.
#6 EXID “Up & Down”
We all know the story by now. Initially released as a digital single in August of 2014, the song failed to chart. After a fancam filmed in October went viral, the song slowly started to climb the charts. The group would start music show promotions again in January, 2015. They got their first music show win with this song, and six trophies total. It is still their best selling single.
