I have always felt uncomfortable seeing them in Tokyo especially because there's always one or two girls in front of the bar asking costumers to enter. I didn't care that much about the costume but they looked so young. I don't think they were always maid cafes, sometimes the girls had school uniforms and it was really disturbing.
Not that I think maid cafes don't have their own issues but...the way this is written makes it sound like this is a message from a different dimension of Seoul where brothels don't exist. Of all the woman hating and objectification on bold display this is a problem? Really? Like having to wear uncomfortable embarrassing clothing and pretending we're interested in men isn't an actively enforced part of 99% of women's jobs to begin with.
