Flashback Friday

Feb 17, 2023 14:09

Happy Friday! Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s see what was on top for the 3rd week in February, 2015.

#3 Jonghyun “Deja Boo”
This would serve as Jonghyun’s solo debut, a pre-release before the he dropped his solo EP, “Base”. It’s my fav song from him! I love it so much. The song was composed by Jonghyun and Zion.T, who also appears on the song. It’s his best selling song. Both the song and the EP would peak at the top spot on the charts. The song would also win at pretty much every music show, with a total of eight trophies. Here’s a performance of the song from an appearance on Sketchbook in 2017.

#2 Jung Yong Hwa “One Fine Day”
Another solo debut! This was the title track of his solo album of the same name. The album would debut at the top spot. This is his best selling solo song, and would also win a few music show trophies. I don’t think I remember this song. A Japanese version of the song would follow a few weeks later, as well as his first solo concerts throughout Asia.

#1 Zion.T & Crush “Just”
This was the only track on their collab single, “Young”. I’ve always enjoyed this mellow track. This would debut at #1 on the charts. The duo would a MAMA for Best Collaboration at the end of the year, beating out another duo on this week’s Flashback Friday. Here’s a live stage at an MBC festival. Aww everyone singing along!

Honorable Mentions

#4 Infinite H “Pretty”
Infinite H was the first unit group from Infinite featuring Dongwoo and Hoya. This was the title track of their second mini, “Fly Again”. It was their subunit comeback after two years. Both the song and the album would chart in the top three. I don’t remember this one as much as their first single. Here’s a stage from Music Bank.

#9 9Muses “Drama”
This was the lead single of the EP of the same name. It was the first release with new members Keumjo and Sojin, and the first without Lee Sem, Eunji, and Serra. The album would peak in the top five, and this is the group’s highest charting song. I remember this era (because they were all so gorgeous!), but I don’t remember the song too much. Here’s their comeback stage at Music Core.
