Happy Friday! Every week I check the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 2nd week in February, 2011. We'll check out some music show stages this week.
#3 TVXQ! “Keep Your Head Down”
Their first comeback release after being a duo. It was a commercial success, and is still one of their biggest selling songs. It would also win seven music show trophies. A Japanese version would drop a few weeks later, and would chart and sell well over there too. Here’s a live stage from Music Core. Not me thinking I actually chose a stage performance of the song where there wasn’t a chance of a nipple slip. Dammit Changmin. Or thank you for your service, depending on however your boat floats.

#2 G.NA “Black And White”
This was the lead single from here only full album of the same name. It was a hit, and would peak at the top spot. The song would give her her first ever music show win, eventually getting a music show grand slam. It was also her best selling song. I remember this era so well, but I think the song was just okay. She looked so cute this era tho. Here’s a live stage from M Countdown.

#1 Secret “Shy Boy”
This was the start of a very successful 2011 for the group. Their retro era. I hated this era lol. Anywho! This song would give them their very first music show win, getting a total of five before promotions ended. It was one of their biggest selling singles. It would stay in the top ten of the charts for six weeks, and end the year as the 5th most streamed song of the year. Here’s a stage from Music Core.

Honorable Mentions
#7 Mighty Mouth featuring Soya “Tok Tok”
My fav Mighty Mouth song so I post it every time I see it lol. This was the lead single from their “Mighty Fresh” album. The song would peak at #4 on the charts, their highest charting single. The song features Soya, who still appears on songs every now and then. Besides being solo artist, she was in a duo, Soya N’Sun. I’ve always remembered her a Kim Jong Kook’s niece. Here’s a live stage from M Countdown.

#9 Jewelry “Back It Up”
This was their first official release without founding member Park Jungah, and Seo Inyoung. They both left the group in December 2009. It was also the first release with new members Semi and (now actress) Kim Yewon. I remember this era, but I don’t remember it being so retro sounding. Is it just me? Or is it because that I just listened to the Secret song? Here’s their comeback stage at Music Core.
