Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s go back to the 2nd week in January, 2012.

#3 T-ara & Davichi “We Were In Love”
This was one of the collaborations between the former labelmates. I think there was three or four songs in total. It followed the success of Davichi’s hit “Don’t Say Goodbye” EP, and T-ara’s big breakout year. This was a huge success too, and sold very, very well. The song would later be included in T-ara’s “Funky Town” re-issue album. Here’s a stage from Inkigayo.

#2 Troublemaker “Troublemaker”
This was the debut single from the former 4Minute and BEAST members. The song was a huge hit, and would hit the top spot. The duo won multiple show trophies, as well as a handful wins at the year-end awards for this song. Here’s a legendary stage from Sketchbook, where the video description says “The reaction of a heated audience” lol. They look fabulous!

#1 IU “You & I”
IU wrapped up a very busy 2011 with the release of her “Last Fantasy” album. This is still her best selling song, as was as the second best selling single in the history of Gaon. Both the song and the album would debut at #1. I wasn’t a fan of this song lol. Here’s a stage from a special concert at MBC. Her styling here is very Wednesday Addams on trend lol.

Honorable Mentions

#7 Electroboyz “Ma Boy 2”
This was the follow up to Sistar19’s “Ma Boy” from earlier in the year. It was also the first song to feature new member Chakun. Prior to this, Electoboyz was a duo. The group would disbanded in 2017, apparently due to inactivity. Members Chakun and Maboos would stay at Brave Entertainment, just working behind the scenes. They both work with the Brave Girls, as well as the boy group DKB. Anywho! Here’s a stage at Inkigayo featuring Hyolyn.

#9 Wonder Girls “Be My Baby”
My favorite Wonder Girls song, it makes me so happy. This was their only release in 2011, following a very busy 2010. It is one of their best selling singles, and would peak at the top spot. The album would chart at #1 as well. The song would also get a handful of trophies at Inkigayo and M Countdown. Here’s a live stage at M Countdown.
