I'm so glad the chorus wasn't an antidrop and had some energy to it, I really expected it to be one after that pre-chorus and I wasn't disappointed. I'm glad it kept the momentum going
Was the spy not the grey haired one ("silver", shrieks the 14yo fanfiction writer inside me)? There was only one with light coloured hair right?
Very solid SF9 title track. Probably won't surpass the likes of Good Guy or Now or Never for me, but very replayable like Tear Drop or Trauma. Congrats to Zuho for his first produced SF9 title song!
I love how each chorus has different members getting lines and a time to shine. The lyrics can be interpreted to be about a lover's betrayal but without any actual mention of cheating or "betraying my love" so it can also be about a literal spy/double agent just like the MV concept.
The spy is of course [Spoiler (click to open)]Ethan, and he'll be missing in the next comeback due to his betrayal enlistment :(
Something in this scratched my brain and now it's just going puzzlin' puzzlin' puzzlin on loop. I enjoyed it, and congrats to Zuho for his first SF9 title track! Rowoon was right when he said that "one day, Zuho will be doing our title track" back in Good Guy era 🥺 I also enjoyed that the members took turns with the chorus, and everyone managed to get decent lines and screen time?
