Unfinished debates have ensued in Korea after IVE Jang Won-young's "seated lip sync" stage.

On December 31st, Jang Won-young and Lee Seo appeared on '2022 MBC Gayo Daejejeon' and performed IU's 'Strawberry Moon' as a cover song. However, controversy began after a netizen posted criticism over her stage.

Let’s be real, do any of the 4th gen groups actually sing live? I remember SNSD used to get a lot of hate for lip syncing (which they did rarely) and now it’s become so normalized.

yeah i came to ask the same thing. i think i dont expect any of them to sing live anymore and just pleasantly surprised if any of them are actually capable of doing it.

I think Stray Kids do occasional. They will often adlib to let the fans know they are singing live. But it's only the 3racha line. Which is weird to me. I actually think the others sound better live because they slightly autotune on the recorded versions.

I dont' even notice anymore lip syncing (which I guess shows how normalized it is now). It used to be all sung live, then, especially with many group members, those with hand mics were singing live but I guess this video proves even that is no longer true.

The only one I can think of is stayc, I think? Are they 4th gen? Lol. I don't follow them, but I remember seeing an article in passing where they had an interview they did where they were asked about singing live.
